September 25, 2025

Through the Department of Ozone, which has conducted training on ODS and Non-ODS gases for Customs officials to increase knowledge about Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and non-ODS usually involves teaching officials how to identify, control, and prevent illegal trade in ODS regulations, using equipment specialized as refrigerant identifiers, recognizing smuggling techniques, and checking trade licenses and tariff codes. Such training is essential to comply with international environmental treaties such as the Montreal Protocol, which aims to phase out the SDGs to protect the ozone layer. The objective of this protection is to protect biodiversity and people from cataracts, skin cancer. Non-SDG components are trained together with the SDGs, because these gases are greenhouse gases that warm the world. In this training how to complete the understanding of goods that contain ODS gases and greenhouse gases. Ensure proper classification and control according to the characteristics of each gas because non-ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances) gases such as hydrocarbon gas (flammable), ammonia gas (poisonous), CO2 gas (explosive). Therefore, as an official of the customs Authority, the technician who does the repair and installation must know the characteristics of these gases.

These trainings have been conducted since 2012 until now around 150 people from the Air Authority have been trained and 140 people from technicians who have attended training organized by the Department of Ozone.
